Sources: Tennessee Tech hires former FBS head strength coach to run S&C efforts (Chris Laskowski)

Tennessee Tech has hired Chris Laskowski as its head coach for football strength and conditioning, sources told FootballScoop on Saturday.

Laskowski previously ran strength programs at Charlotte and Austin Peay. At Peay, he was part of one of the most remarkable turnarounds in college football history, as the Governors snapped a 29-game losing streak in 2017 and then reeled off wins in eight of their final 10 games to close the season.

“Chris was the biggest reason for us being able to flip the program," then-Austin Peay head coach Will Healy said. “I can’t say enough about the importance of his role and the impact he has had on our program.”

Laskowski then joined Healy at Charlotte from 2019-22.

Laskowski joined Florida Atlantic's start-up football team as a walk-on in 2000, and was named Team MVP by 2002, and a co-MVP in 2003. He spent time playing professionally with the Indianapolis Colts and the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe.

Tennessee Tech is building toward its first season under new head coach Bobby Wilder. The Golden Eagles went 4-7 in 2023.
