Sources: Cincinnati hiring LSU's Curtis Fitch to Bearcats' offensive staff (todd fitch)

Curtis Fitch, who played collegiately at Appalachian State, is joining the second-year Cincinnati staff of coach Scott Satterfield, sources told FootballScoop.

The son of current Ohio State senior analyst Todd Fitch, Curtis Fitch is set to work in a quality control position assisting with the Bearcats tight ends.

The Fitch name has been somewhat synonymous with college football now for several years.

In addition to the younger Fitch's time as a quarterback at Appalachian State, Todd Fitch has been an offensive coordinator at the Power 5 level -- Boston College, East Carolina, South Florida, Louisiana Tech, Vanderbilt among his stops.

Curtis Fitch also has logged a previous stop at East Carolina, added LSU for the past year and now will move from a couple of graduate-assistant roles into a notch closer to becoming an on-field assistant.

At Cincinnati he is expected to work closely with tight ends coach Josh Stepp.

The Bearcats struggled to an 3-9 campaign in 2023, losing nine of their final 10 games in Satterfield's first season at the helm after he left Louisville to replace Luke Fickell.

Cincinnati, entering Year 2 as a member of the Big 12, opens its 2024 season Aug. 31 against FCS foe Towson State before hosting former Big East rival Pittsburgh the following week.
