Damon Magazu is headed home.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Magazu, who's coached in the secondary at UNLV the past four seasons, will return to East Carolina as the program's safeties coach.
An East Carolina grad, Magazu also initiated his coaching career with the Pirates, for whom he was a graduate assistant.
After an additional year on Lincoln Riley's Oklahoma staff as a grad assistant, Magazu then was hired at UNLV.
He was one of just two coaches who was retained last year when Barry Odom took over the Runnin' Rebels program. UNLV had one of the most strident turnarounds this season in college football, winning nine games and set for a date against Kansas later this month in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
Magazu was an all-conference selection twice during his playing days at ECU.
