Sources: Davidson lands new offensive coordinator (Saj Thakkar)

New Davidson head coach Saj Thakkar has a major piece of his inaugural Wildcats coaching staff almost in place.

Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Thakkar is hiring Keegan Kennedy as the Davidson offensive coordinator.

It's poised to be a very strong move for Thakkar, as Kennedy -- most recently the offensive line coach for the Richmond Spiders -- not only has extensive Ivy League experience from his time on the Harvard staff but also played the game at an elite level.

A Northwestern graduate, Kennedy was an All-Big Ten Conference selection for the Wildcats during his playing days.

He's also served on the staff of perennial NCAA DIII powerhouse program John Carroll, FCS Rhode Island and held multiple roles at FBS program Central Florida. UCF now is a member of the Big 12 Conference.

Thakkar surged into the role as Davidson's new coach following two seasons as head coach atop NCAA DII program Bentley University. He replaced longtime Wildcats coach Scott Abell, who exited Davidson to take over FBS program Rice University.
