Missouri Southern safeties coach Trenton Greene is expected to join Montana State's coaching staff as cornerbacks coach, sources told FootballScoop on Monday.
Greene joined the Missouri Southern staff in 2024 after serving as a analyst under defensive coordinator Brian Ward at Washington State (2022) and Arizona State (2023).
A team captain and a two-time All-MAC linebacker at Bowling Green, Greene, playing under Ward, recorded 127 tackles on a Falcons team that won the 2015 MAC championship.
Greene spent 2017-19 on staff at Syracuse, working with the linebackers.
Greene joins a re-made Montana State defensive staff. Shawn Howe was elevated to defensive coordinator last week after Bobby Daly left for UTEP; Jody Owens was elevated to assistant head coach and linebackers coach, safeties coach Bryan Shepherd to pass game coordinator, and Nick Jean-Baptiste to defensive line coach.
The Bobcats will look to improve upon a 15-1 season that saw them go undefeated until falling 35-32 to North Dakota State in the FCS National Championship.
