Sources: FCS coordinator on the move

Morehead State is promoting Andrew Strobel to defensive coordinator, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

Strobel is currently Morehead State's linebackers coach, co-special teams coordinator and defensive recruiting coordinator.

He will replace Tony Brinson, who is returning to Wagner, sources tell FootballScoop. Brinson was Wagner's defensive coordinator from 2011-18. At Wagner, sources tell FootballScoop Brinson's role this time is expected to be more along the lines of assistant head coach, with other duties, etc... but is not expected to coordinate the defense.

This will be Strobel's third season on staff. He was previously the defensive coordinator at Alma College in Michigan and Culver-Stockton College in Missouri.

Morehead State went 5-7 in 2019 (the Eagles best record since 2015). The Eagles will begin the spring 2021 season Feb. 20 at James Madison.
