Southern (FCS - LA) offensive coordinator Chennis Berry will be the new head coach at Benedict College, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.
Benedict is a historically black Division II school in Columbia, S.C. The Tigers compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Berry spent seven seasons at Southern, the last four as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. He previously coordinated offenses at Howard, North Carolina A&T and Morgan State.
Berry replaces Mike White, who was released on Nov. 19. The team went 1-9 in 2019.
We hear Southern will move quickly to replace Berry and will update once their plans become clear.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
