Sources: Georgia State goes to SEC staff to fill running backs job (Georgia State)

Sources share that Georgia State's new running backs coach is coming from an SEC staff.

Enrique Davis, an analyst for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss, is set to become the new running backs coach for the program, sources tell FootballScoop.

Before joining the staff in Oxford, Davis was the running backs coach at Western Kentucky.

Davis cut his teeth in coaching at the high school level, serving as head coach and AD at Renaissance Christian Academy (GA) for a few seasons before landing the co-offensive coordinator job at Westlake HS (Atlanta, GA).

He would go on to work under legendary Division II head coach David Dean at West Georgia, where he poured into leadership and player development for the program, and also worked a summer internship with the New York Jets as an offensive quality control coach and spent a year at McMurry University coaching running backs as well.

In high school, Davis was a three-time All American and five-star recruit before enrolling at Ole Miss from 2008-11, playing under Houston Nutt. He would go on to a professional career that included stops with the Falcons, Dolphins, Broncos and Green Bay Blizzard before starting his coaching career.

At Georgia State, Davis takes over for Will Healy as the former Charlotte head coach landed the head coaching opportunity at East Tennessee State (FCS).
