Sources: Jaguars hiring top young OL coach, Trevor Mendelson (liam coen)

Trevor Mendelson's collegiate coaching stops include Wake Forest and Notre Dame, as well as most recently as Lance Taylor's Western Michigan program.

Now, Mendelson is getting a shot at the NFL.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Mendelson has accepted an offensive assistant coaching post on Liam Coen's inaugural Jacksonville Jaguars staff.

Mendelson is expected to start his new role next week, per sources. Matt Zenitz was first to report Mendelson's NFL jump.

A former offensive lineman at Marshall, Mendelson served under Dave Clawson at Wake Forest and spanned the final year of Brian Kelly and the first year of Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame.

He then followed Taylor to Western Michigan, where he helped the program earn a bowl bid after the 2024 season.

Coen was hired late last month by the Jags, away from his post as offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Bucs.
