Sources: Jerry Mack poised to nab top young WR coach, former SEC staffer (David Whitlow)

After time in the Southeastern Conference at both Auburn and Ole Miss, David Whitlow then helped the West Georgia offense set multiple school records in 2024 during the program's first-ever full season of FCS competition.

Whitlow won't be sticking around for the encore, but only because he's once again on the rise.

Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Whitlow is going to be Jerry Mack's wide receivers coach for Kennesaw State.

Mack, also a former SEC assistant whom Kennesaw State officials hired away from the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, is continuing to assemble his staff for the FBS program.

Playing at Alabama State first as a quarterback and then defensive back, Whitlow then worked on the offensive staffs for Lane Kiffin & Co. at Ole Miss and then Auburn under Gus Malzahn prior to that stop.

Working with top young offensive coordinator Dane Stevens this past season at UWG, Whitlow helped the Wolves average almost 31 points per game, a top-20 passing offense and one of just a handful of schools to boast three receivers with 500 or more receiving yards.

UWG improved every single offensive category during a season that opened with a win against Samford and end on the road with a win at Utah Tech.
