Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan staff is making another addition to the offense.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Youngstown State’s Josh Sinagoga is leaving the Penguins’ program to take an offensive analyst position with Harbaugh’s Wolverines.
Michigan late last month was forced to fire former offensive coordinator Matt Weiss, who both worked with the Wolverines’ quarterbacks and was the team’s top offensive assistant, amidst a police investigation for alleged “computer access crimes.”
Harbaugh and the Wolverines recently promoted Kirk Campbell from his senior offensive analyst role to be Michigan’s quarterbacks coach with Weiss no longer in the program. Campbell also has offensive coordinator experience – and had shown some strong elements of success in that role as play-caller at Old Dominion.
Sinagoga is going to work on offense and expected to assist Campbell with the Wolverines’ quarterbacks. In addition to his work this past season with Youngstown’s quarterbacks, Sinagoga also spent two years coaching the Penguins’ wide receivers.
Prior to that, Sinagoga worked in various roles at both Big Ten program Iowa and Cincinnati, in 2018 and 2019, respectively, where helped both programs’ offenses.
He’s a Northwood University graduate with a master’s degree from Central Michigan.
