Sources: Kentucky finds next wide receivers coach (Daikiel Shorts)

The University of Kentucky's offseason staff shake-up is in a unique situation.

But multiple sources tell FootballScoop that the Wildcats have their next wide receivers coach.

Mark Stoops is moving to hire L'Damian Washington away from Alex Golesh's South Florida program as Kentucky's next offensive assistant, multiple sources tell FootballScoop.

A former University of Missouri standout wide receiver who helped the Tigers to the 2013 SEC Championship, Washington served in an off-the-field role at his alma mater before rapidly moving through the coaching ranks.

He spent a year coaching the wideouts for Oklahoma, joined Golesh's staff prior to the 2023 season and now is set for his first on-field job back in the SEC.

Washington is set to replace Daikiel Shorts, who departed earlier this month for a similar position on Matt Rhule's Nebraska staff.
