Sources: LSU moving to bolster offensive staff with former Tulane OC Slade Nagle (Tulane Football Staff)

Brian Kelly is expected to bolster his offensive staff by hiring Slade Nagle as LSU's tight ends coach, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday.

Nagle spent the past eight seasons working under Willie Fritz at Tulane as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was set to take the same role on Fritz's Houston staff before opting to remain in his native Louisiana on Jon Sumrall's staff.

Nagle spent the 2009 season as an administrative assistant working with LSU's special teams. He's spent the majority of his career in the Pelican State, coaching running backs and special teams at his alma mater McNeese for four seasons before coming to Tulane in 2016.

Kelly is re-tooling his offensive staff following Mike Denbrock's departure for Notre Dame.

Joe Sloan and Cortez Hankton will serve as co-offensive coordinators, with Sloan, the quarterbacks coach, serving as the play-caller. The Tigers will look to replace the Heisman Trophy-level production of quarterback Jayden Daniels, along with a first-round pick in wide receiver Malik Nabers.
