Sources: Wisconsin fills tight ends role with Luke Fickell assistant (Nate Letton)

Nate Letton is expected to be Wisconsin's tight ends coach, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

The role will be a familiar one for Letton, who served the same role for Luke Fickell's program at Cincinnati in 2022. He was an offensive graduate assistant for the Bearcats in 2020-21.

Letton fills the role created by the departure of passing game coordinator/tight ends coach Gino Guidugli, who took the quarterbacks job at Notre Dame

A Centre College graduate, Letton graduated in 2015 and spent the next four seasons on staff. He coached wide receivers in 2015, tight ends in 2016, and the offensive line from 2017-19.

Letton joins a Wisconsin offensive staff headed by coordinator and quarterbacks coach Phil Longo. Mike Brown is the club's associate head coach and wide receivers coach, Devon Spalding the running backs coach, and Jack Bicknell, Jr., the offensive line coach. Brown and Letton are the only coaches among that group that worked for Fickell at Cincinnati.
