Sources: McNeese State to add new football GM (USA Football)

Gary Goff is heading into a pivotal third season atop the McNeese State football program, and Goff now has a key position filled in his football administration.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Aaron Ingram is departing his role as personnel and recruiting specialist at MAC program Ball State to assume the mantle as general manager of McNeese State football.

It stands to be a key addition for Goff and the Cowboys, who have won just five games the past two seasons.

Ingram has deep experience throughout football, climbing through the ranks as both an assistant coach and in administrative as well as personnel roles.

Most notably, Ingram served as the general manager of USA Football from 2015 through 2021.

Ingram, whose assistant coaching stops have included the University of Nevada as well as Sacramento State, also has been heralded for his recruiting acumen; he has more than a decade's experience as a recruiting coordinator.

After finishing 1-10 this season, McNeese State is set to open its 2024 campaign Aug. 31 against Southern before traveling to face Mike Elko's Texas A&M Aggies the following week.
