Sources: Mike Elko, Texas A&M adding Kyle Hoke to Aggies defensive staff (Brady Hoke)

Not quite two months into his tenure atop the Texas A&M football program, Mike Elko continues to piece together the entire ensemble of his Aggies staff.

The latest, sources tell FootballScoop, is another boost to the Texas A&M defensive staff.

Kyle Hoke, nephew of former Ball State, Michigan and San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke, has been added to the Aggies staff as a defensive analyst, sources told FootballScoop.

The addition of Hoke brings Elko ever closer to filling out his entire Texas A&M staff; sources told FootballScoop Thursday that Elko has narrowed down to a couple of candidates for a final defensive assistant coaching position.

The younger Hoke, who played at Ball State, already has amassed quite the coaching ladder. He's coached in the Southeastern Conference at South Carolina, coached at Western Michigan, Army and noted NCAA Division III powerhouse John Carrol University.

He's also logged time at Indiana State as well as Texas State.

Hoke became a central staffer on his uncle's San Diego State staffs for the past four seasons, finishing up this past year as the Aztecs safeties coach.

Additionally on Thursday, Preston Wilson also joined the Aggies defensive staff in an analyst position. Mason, who also coached at Texas State alongside Hoke, previously worked with new Aggies defensive staffer Jay Bateman when Bateman was defensive coordinator at North Carolina.

Texas A&M hired Elko in late November to replace the fired Jimbo Fisher after Elko, the former Aggies defensive coordinator, turned around the Duke program with 19 wins in his first two seasons as a head coach.

Elko faces a familiar foe to open his tenure in College Station, Texas, on Aug. 31: The Aggies host Notre Dame, where Elko became a star defensive coordinator under Brian Kelly before he exited South Bend, Indiana, to take over the A&M defense for Fisher.
