Sources: Missouri is adding a fellow SEC staffer in key recruiting role (recruiting)

Eli Drinkwitz is filling a recruiting opening on his staff with some veteran SEC experience, we're told.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Brett Whiteside is joining Drink's staff at Missouri as his chief recruiting officer.

He will take over the role vacated by Jake Breske, who we shared this morning was leaving for a role on Josh Heupel's staff at Tennessee.

Whiteside previously served in a few different roles for Gus Malzahn at Auburn including as Director of Football Operations and Administration and the Director of Recruiting Operations.

Before Auburn, he served as the Director of Player Personnel at Arkansas State under Gus in 2012, and prior to that was a student recruiting and operations assistant at Auburn from 2007-11.

Drink & Whiteside were both on Gus' staff at A-State for the 2012 season.

When Bryan Harsin was brought in from Boise State, Whiteside was not retained. He now is set to remain in the SEC and landing on Missouri's staff.
