Morehead State is poised to end its coaching search, hours before the onset of the NCAA's December early signing period.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Jason Woodman is set to take over the Eagles program.
Morehead State changed direction in its program after the 2023 season, when it finished off a 4-7 campaign.
Woodman has guided the program at Fairmont State University for the past 11 seasons, and he's the second-winningest coach in the history of the school, which has competed at the NCAA Division II level.
After initially beginning his career as a graduate assistant for both Nick Saban and Les Miles at LSU, Woodman began to climb from there. He worked with Jimbo Fisher and Bobby Bowden at Florida State, eventually took over the offensive coordinator role at Bowie State and then logged more than a decade at Fairmont.
Though Morehead State's entire 2024 schedule is not completed, it currently is schedule to open the season at home against Union (Kentucky) before September road trips to Montana and Eastern Kentucky.
