Sources: Nebraska making change at special teams coordinator (Dana Holgorsen)

Nebraska finally made a bowl game, and won said bowl game for the first time in roughly a decade.

Now, as Matt Rhule enters Year 3 in Lincoln, changes are coming to Rhule's staff -- which already has experienced changes atop the offensive hierarchy.

Sources directly tell FootballScoop that Rhule has parted with Ed Foley, the Cornhuskers special teams coordinator.

Foley's a coaching veteran of more than 30 years and that includes the past two years overseeing special teams for Nebraska, which won its first bowl game since 2015 last month with its 20-15 win against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl inside Yankee Stadium in New York.

With his track record stretching deep with Rhule, Foley also has previous stops with the NFL's Carolina Panthers, the Temple Owls and Baylor Bears -- all on Rhule staffs.

Already in the past few months, Rhule moved away from Marcus Satterfield at offensive coordinator and had Dana Holgorsen, the former West Virginia and Houston head coach, take on play-calling duties.

Additionally, after losing Tony White to Florida State to become the Seminoles' new defensive coordinator, Rhule and the Cornhuskers have elevated John Butler as their new defensive play-caller.
