With its second-ever spring camp under Marcus Freeman just three weeks away, Notre Dame is drawing closer and closer to filling out its on-field staff as well as the Fighting Irish's support staff within the football program.
And sources tell FootballScoop that along those lines, Notre Dame is adding Caleb Carbine into a key offensive analyst role to assist with Parker's direction of the offense.
Late last month Freeman elevated Parker to the Notre Dame offensive coordinator post after Tommy Rees exited for Nick Saban's Alabama program, and multiple other Fighting Irish support staffers have continued to grow their careers during this cycle.
Trevor Mendelson and Gus Ragland, two critical offensive analysts the past few seasons under Rees, accepted full-time, assistant coaching positions at Football Bowls Subdivision programs after the 2022 season. Mendelson is now coaching the offensive line at Western Michigan; Ragland is quarterbacks coach at his alma mater, Miami (Ohio).
Carbine, who played at Troy, got his coaching start at his alma mater and helped the Trojans as both player and coach into the postseason.
Additionally, Carbine was a part of multiple bowl teams during his run at West Virginia.
Most recently, Carbine had been the running game coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of North Alabama, where Carbine, a Florence, Alabama, native, had started his collegiate playing career before he finished up at Troy.
Sources told FootballScoop that Carbine already has met with the Fighting Irish coaching staff and begun transitioning onto Parker's offensive staff.
