The offseason exodus continues for USC, and new Purdue coach Barry Odom is set to reunite with an old colleague.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Josh Henson is departing his role as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach on Lincoln Riley's USC staff to take over the offensive reins for Odom at Purdue.
The two have a long history together, most notably during an extended run from 2009-15 as colleagues at the University of Missouri.
Odom is trying to resurrect Purdue football after being hired earlier this month as replacement for the fired Ryan Walters. The Boilermakers plummeted to an 1-11 mark this past season after going 4-8 in 2023, Walters's first year at the helm.
Henson helped guide an USC offense that, despite injuries, still ranked among the nation's top passing offenses and helped the Trojans claw to an 6-6 finish to earn a postseason bowl berth.
Odom landed the Purdue job, his second as a Power Conference head coach following a run at his alma mater Missouri, after he guided UNLV to program-record success the past two seasons, a run that culminated with a berth opposite Boise State earlier this month in the Mountain West Conference Championship.
The Broncos won and punched their first-ever College Football Playoff berth.
Henson has additional assistant coaching experience at the Power Conference level from stints at LSU, Oklahoma State (twice) and Texas A&M.
