Former Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Stockstill is expected to join Mike Norvell's Florida State staff in an off-field capacity, sources told FootballScoop on Monday.
Stockstill spent the past 18 seasons as MTSU's head coach, winning 113 games with 10 bowl appearances, one conference title, and one division title.
Prior to landing the Middle Tennessee job, Stockstill worked as an offensive assistant at Bethune-Cookman, UCF, Clemson, East Carolina and South Carolina. He also played quarterback at Florida State from 1977-81.
It's not clear at press time what role Stockstill will hold in Tallahassee. He could be in line to replace director of offensive scouting John Garrett, who took a general manager role at Duke earlier this month.
