Sources: Former Big Ten offensive coordinator landing at rival B10 program (sean gleeson)

For several years now among the highest-rising young offensive minds in college football, Sean Gleeson isn't seeing his career derailed by an unceremonious departure last fall from Rutgers University.

Instead, sources tell FootballScoop, Gleeson is on the verge of a return to the Big Ten Conference.

Formerly the highest-paid assistant coach at Rutgers before his somewhat-stunning forced exit from Greg Schiano's Scarlet Knights last October, Gleeson is in the process of joining the Northwestern Wildcats' staff as a senior offensive analyst.

In addition for Gleeson to have the opportunity to join the staff of highly esteemed Northwestern head man Pat Fitzgerald, Gleeson also has a chance to team with Mike Bajakian -- a former NFL and Southeastern Conference offensive coordinator.

Additionally, Bajakian and Gleeson share the same collegiate alma mater -- Williams College.

Before his nearly three-year-run at Rutgers as the play-caller, Gleeson first rose to acclaim as the coordinator at Princeton University and then leaped to Oklahoma State for a reason running the offense with Mike Gundy.

Northwestern is entering a pivotal 2023 campaign, and the Wildcats coincidentally open their season ... at Rutgers Sept. 2. Their first home game is Sept. 9 against UTEP.
