Brett Kean played quarterback in college at the FBS level for both Charlotte and USF.
After his playing days, he transitioned into coaching -- first at the junior college level at Independence Community College in Kansas and then at Akron.
Kean then moved to the defensive side of the ball at FAU and, eventually, back at USF, where Kean had spent the first four years of his collegiate playing career.
Now, Kean is poised to return to the offensive side of the line of scrimmage.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Kean has accepted the role of quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for Larry Scott's Howard Bison football program.
Kean had been a senior defensive analyst in Alex Golesh's USF program, primarily working with the Bulls linebackers.
At Howard, an FCS program seeking to bounce back from an 4-8 2024 campaign, Kean will try to help revamp an offense that scored less than 20 points per game last fall.
Howard is slated to open its 2025 season Aug. 30 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami opposite Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic.
