After spending the last season as offensive coordinator at Kennesaw State, Chris Klenakis is moving back into the world of Power 5 football.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Klenakis is set to join the Vanderbilt staff of Clark Lea and serve as offensive line coach for new Commodores play-caller Tim Beck.
Beck was hired atop the Vanderbilt offense late last month.
In Klenakis, Lea & Co. add a veteran presence along their offensive staff in a pivotal season for the the Commodores.
Klenakis has coached at Arkansas, Louisville, Nevada, Southern Miss and Iowa State, among other destinations.
He's long been regarded as a strong developer of talent at both the quarterback and offensive line positions.
Klenakis also possesses offensive coordinator experience at the P-5 level from his work at both Arkansas and Louisville.
Vanderiblt, coming off a 2-10 season in Lea's third campaign at the helm, opens the 2024 slate at home against Virginia Tech Aug. 31.
