Sources: Vince Marrow makes decision on joining Bill Belichick's UNC staff (Mark Stoops)

For a couple of weeks, Vince Marrow had pondered an offer to join Bill Belichick's inaugural coaching staff at North Carolina.

Now, Marrow has made his decision.

Sources with direct knowledge tell FootballScoop that Marrow intends to remain on Mark Stoops's Kentucky staff.

Marrow is the longest-tenured assistant coach under Stoops, having served on the Kentucky staff for the past dozen seasons.

An Youngstown, Ohio, native, Marrow also is among the highest-paid assistant coaches at Kentucky -- with a deal that runs through the 2026 season that pays him at least $1.3 million annually.

Belichick was hired earlier this month to replace Mack Brown at North Carolina.

It's the first time ever coaching in college for Belichick, one of the NFL's most decorated coaches with his six Super Bowl wins as the former head coach of the New England Patriots.
