Joe Davis continues to build out a strong staff at his first head coaching stop after successful coordinator stops at Division III and some top-level FCS programs.
To run the Western Illinois (FCS) offense, sources tell FootballScoop that Davis is prying away a coordinator from a top Division II program.
Brad Wilson, who just wrapped up his seventh season on the University of Indianapolis staff this past fall, is joining the staff as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, sources share.
The past four seasons at UIndy for Wilson have been spent as the program's offensive play caller for Wilson after initially joining the staff as run game coordinator.
UIndy finished the year 9-2 and among the top 25 programs in Division II after a first-round playoff exit following a loss to Pitt State (D-II - KS).
Since joining the staff, Wilson has helped the Greyhounds to an impressive 58-13 record, five Great Lakes Valley Conference titles, and five Division II playoff appearances.
The Greyhounds wrapped up this year averaging over 32 points per game, among the top ten in Division II in passing efficiency and among the top 30 rushing offenses.
Like Davis, Wilson coached at the small college level previously, coaching at perennial power North Central (D-III - IL) before joining the UIndy staff and also coached the offensive line at Eastern Michigan and Fort Lewis previously.
