I don't know what Alabama's budget for guest speakers is, but it's got to be a lot. Nick Saban has brought in Lone Survivor author Marcus Luttrell, Kobe Bryant and, now, the highest-paid person on ESPN's airwaves -- Stephen A. Smith.
Screamin' A took a break from barking about LeBron and Kawhi to drop a bucket of ice cold reality on the Crimson Tide earlier this week.
"You think the world cares about you. The world don't give a damn about you," he said. "Let me be very, very clear in what I'm saying: the world does not give a damn about you. It doesn't give a damn about me. You are a commodity or you are a liability... Yes, you are cared for. Yes, you are not just somebody to be used and thrown away. But for the most part, in the real world, people don't give a damn about you."
Of course, this being Stephen A., he couldn't get out the door without name dropping Kobe and Michael Jordan.
And then an episode of First Take broke out, but there's a point in here somewhere.
Tune in next year when Air Jordan himself comes to talk to Alabama, probably.
