Steve Sarkisian shows up to postgame presser with corndog following vow from Brent Venables earlier in week (Corndog)

Earlier this week, Brent Venables told reporters that if his Oklahoma Sooners could pull out a win against top-ranked Texas in the Red River Rivalry, he would give a Fletchers corndog a try for the first time.

But that famous Texas State fair treat will have to wait, as it was all Texas today from the get-go.

The Longhorns took care of business on the field today, where a 21-point second quarter performance helped propel them to a 34-3 win. The Horns defense allowed a field goal in the first quarter and then held the Sooners scoreless the rest of the game.

At the end of the game, in what we can only imagine was anything but a coincidence, Steve Sarkisian walked into his postgame presser with a special snack on a stick in hand.

You guessed it, it was a corndog.

Well played Sark.

Fletchers is widely credited as the originator of deep fried fair food, debuting in a food stand from Neil and Carl Fletcher back in the early 1940s. Fletchers, now a third-generation family business, sells half a million corndogs during the course of the 24-day fair.
