It's New Year's Day in college athletics, and conference realignments aren't the only things that become official today.
Texas Tech officially switched apparel suppliers from Under Armour to Adidas, a move more than half a decade in the making.
In 2019, Patrick Mahomes wore a Texas Tech shirt with 'adidas' taped over their then-sponsor Under Armour.

With that comes new uniforms, and I have to say Adidas hit the mark with these.
The new kits come with black and white helmets, with black, red and white top and bottom combinations that can, and will, be mixed-and-matched.
The first detail that catches the eye is stripes, stripes, and more stripes. The thick, double stripes on the shoulders and pants bring a nice, classic touch, but I'm not sure I love the red-white-red striping on the black helmet.

The Red Raiders have donned numerous throwback looks throughout the years, so Adidas and Tech were clearly playing to the crowd here by going with a 'classic', 'permanent faux-back' look. And I'd say they hit the mark everywhere except the black helmets, where I wish they'd either inverted the striping or gone stripe-less.
What say you?
