The latest with the Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are another NFL franchise (along with the Lions and Falcons) looking to fill openings at both general manager and head coach.

The Texans were the first team to make a head coaching change following an 0-4 start ot the season, letting go of head coach / general manager Bill O'Brien. In sevens seasons, O'Brien went 52-48 and won four division titles with the team.

Romeo Crennel was named interim head coach and led the team to a 4-8 finish.

Schefter adds that “many believe” Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is a strong candidate as well.

Former Browns general manager John Dorsey is a serious candidate for the Texans GM opening, according to Jason La Canfora, who shares that, “League sources said that headhunter Jed Hughes, who twice previously conducted GM searches in which Dorsey prevailed, remains very high on the longtime personnel executive, and is advocating for his consideration for the opening in Houston.”
