Roc Bellantoni will not return as Florida Atlantic's defensive coordinator, ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reported Sunday.
The move comes after FAU was beaten 49-14 by East Carolina on Thursday. That loss dropped the Owls to 2-7 on the season and 0-5 in the American. FAU has lost four straight overall, and allowed between 38 and 49 points in each contest.
Bellantoni was among Tom Herman's first hires since taking the Florida Atlantic job in December of 2022. He was previously FAU's defensive coordinator from 2014-16, and has previously been the special teams coordinator at Villanova, Buffalo, and Utah State.
Florida Atlantic closes its season with Temple, Charlotte and Tulsa. The Owls are 6-14 overall under Herman.
