Earlier today, a rumor popped up that new Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades had already reached out to Houston head coach Tom Herman about the Baylor head coaching job currently held by interim head coach Jim Grobe.
Coming off a 13-1 debut with the Coogs in 2015, and high expectations of the 2016 season just weeks away, Herman addressed the rumors with a statement to the Houston Chronicle about 2pm EST today that: "Reports of any contact between me and any other schools are completely ridiculous and absolutely false."
Rhoades formally accepted the Baylor AD job yesterday afternoon after about a year at Missouri, and was responsible for hiring Herman at Houston back in mid-December of 2014.
With that rumor squashed for the time being, Herman and the Cougars can focus on their big opener against Oklahoma on September 3rd.
