Tommy Rees close to landing NFL position coaching job (Cleveland Browns Coaching Staff)

Former Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is expected to land on his feet following Nick Saban's retirement. He is set to become the Cleveland Browns' tight ends coach a role in the "development" of the passing game, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic.

Wide receivers coach coach Chad O'Shea already holds the passing game coordinator title in Cleveland, which is likely the reason for the careful wording of what exactly Rees's title and role will be.

Either way, a job on Kevin Stefanski's staff would represent a productive pivot after a bout of unfortunate timing.

At just 31 years old, Rees, has spent the past four years calling plays for arguably the two most visible programs in college football. He assuredly would've been back at Alabama had Saban not retired.

However, a coaching spot in Cleveland could potentially open him up to NFL coordinator gigs down the road, or it could just serve as a pit stop before a return to college football in 2025.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
