Tre Lamb, a record-setting head coach at Gardner-Webb who already has spawned an impressive set of proteges in his young coaching career, has nearly completed his inaugural ETSU staff.
Lamb was hired late last month to take over the Bucs' program following Lamb's unparalleled work atop the G-W program, which included 14 wins and back-to-back FCS Playoffs appearances -- the first in school history.
Now Lamb is adding former University of Tennessee All-SEC running back Jay Graham, who previously coached with Lamb and also has worked at Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee, to serve as ETSU's special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.
Additionally, Lamb has moved to tab Joe Scelfo as ETSU's new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Sources said those moves are expected to be finalized in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Lamb also has brought with him a strong contingent of his Gardner-Webb coaching staff that helped the program to its first-ever FCS Playoffs win in 2022 and served as foundation in Lamb's rise to Big South Conference Coach of the Year.
Sources told FootballScoop that former Bulldogs defensive coordinator Josh Reardon has been tabbed to the same role at ETSU; Hakim Gray also will make the transition from G-W to ETSU, maintaining his spot as the defensive line coach.
Offensively, per sources, Lamb has moved to bring Dominique Davenport (running backs), Kishawn McClain (wide receivers) and Tyler Dell (quarterbacks).
A former all-conference quarterback at Tennessee Tech, Lamb will continue to be his team's primary play-caller while Scelfo assists strongly with the game plan and administration of the offense. Scelfo most recently was on staff at New Mexico this past season; he's also coached at North Carolina State and previously with Lamb at Gardner-Webb.
ESPN's Pete Thamel also reported that Lamb is expected to add both Graham and Scelfo to the ETSU staff.
