After a 12-win season and NCAA Division II quarterfinals loss to powerhouse Lenoir-Rhyne, Tremaine Jackson and Valdosta State are revamping their staff for the 2024 season.
Jackson is adding new coaches to both sides of the line of scrimmage.
Per sources, former Memphis assistant Graham Craig is set to become Valdosta State's new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
An offensive analyst for the Tigers during their stellar 2023 season, Craig also previously called the offense at West Georgia.
Brice Carlson is set to become the new offensive line coach for the Blazers; like Craig, Carlson has experience at West Georgia as that program's former OL coach and running game coordinator.
He's also coached at Mississippi Valley State, West Virginia State and Southwest Baptist, among other stops.
Dylan August is going to coach the Blazers running backs, bringing experience from both sides of the ball into the role. August, among stops, owns time on staff at the University of Houston as an offensive analyst for the Cougars.
Defensively, Jackson is finalizing his staff with the addition of Darren Garrigan as the defensive backs coach.
Garrigan brings to Georgia deep ties to the Lone Star State. He's previously coached at Incarnate Word, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Southern.
The Blazers open spring practice next month and will host their annual spring game April 18.
