Two positions open at UAB (Uab Football)

A pair of off-the-field college football staffers are getting major opportunities, and in the process a pair of key positions are opening up on Trent Dilfer’s UAB first-year staff.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Dilfer’s Blazers are losing their video coordinator to Mark Stoops’s Kentucky Wildcats, and their equipment manager to Arthur Smith’s Atlanta Falcons.

A Hendersonville, Tennessee, native, Ryne Nicholson has experience at multiple programs as head of equipment, with stints at UAB, ETSU and the University of Tennessee under industry-legend Roger Frazier.

Walter Hill has served as UAB’s video director after earning his undergraduate degree at Mississippi State.

UAB has continued to fully invest in its football program, injecting new levels of financing into the Blazer program since hiring Dilfer, a formerSuper Bowl-winning quarterback and longtime ESPN personality last December.

Those interested in the UAB openings on Dilfer’s staff may email Blazers Chief of Staff Cole Peterson (Cepeters@uab.edu).

UAB is set to open the Dilfer era August 31 against North Carolina A&T.

The Blazers have opening-month games as well against Georgia Southern, Louisiana and at two-time defending national champion Georgia.
