UCF opened the Bounce House -- then known as Bright House Networks Stadium, now officially called as FBC Mortgage Stadium but known by everyone as the name first used here -- in 2007.
Among all the FBS football stadiums, Bright House Networks Stadium was... one of them.
Sure, the Bounce House was home to 45 percent of the world's aluminum supply at the time, but at a size (45,323) and location (on campus) it was a massive step forward from the Citrus Bowl (now known as Camping World Stadium). But only the first step.
On Friday, UCF released updated renderings for what AD Terry Mohajir dubbed "the football campus."
"We'll be the only school in the country that has a living, learning performance environment," he said at a presentation to university leadership when he introduced the project back in 2021. "That includes housing, nutrition, sports medicine, sports performance, academics, and career services."
The project will move coaches offices inside the Bounce House, presumably with windows and seating areas overlooking the field, along with everything a football player would need -- from hydrotherapy to nutrition to academic services -- all in one location.
The football campus will also house recruiting efforts, tailgating, and be open to corporate functions and other gathering on non-game days.
For a global view, here's a look at how Mohajir presented the project back in 2021.

And, best of all, the price tag comes in at "only" $50 million.
"You see schools all the time that build these $100 million football facilities," he said in 2021. "You know why? In those towns, there's nothing to do. We don't need to do that here."
Friday's post comes on the heels of the other big off-the-field development within UCF football: SJ Tuohy moving from Gus Malzahn's chief of staff to the chief executive within the university's collective, The Kingdom. We laid out the grand vision for Tuohy and The Kingdom in that piece.
Now, if you're a UCF donor, and Mohajir asks for $25,000 to build the football campus and Tuohy asks for $25,000 to get a difference maker on the roster, what's your play? Do you split it down the middle? If you choose one campaign over the other, which one is it? We know what Tuohy would say, but what about Mohajir?
That right there is the $50 million question.
