UCF reportedly targeting Sun Belt AD for same position (Arkansas State)

UCF is targeting Arkansas State's Terry Mohajir to lead the Knights' athletics department with a deal possible within 24 hours, according to Yahoo's Pete Thamel.

One of the few ADs to play Division I football, Mohajir has run his alma mater's athletics department since 2012. He inherited a program Gus Malzahn as his head coach and has since hired Bryan Harsin, Blake Anderson and Butch Jones to lead the Red Wolves' football program.

Harsin and Anderson were both first-time head coaches with offensive coordinator backgrounds, and both hires were successes. Harsin won the Sun Belt in his one year in the league, and Anderson went 51-37 (38-18 Sun Belt) with two conference crowns in seven seasons.

Arkansas State has also set several fundraising and revenue records with Mohajir as AD. His tenure has also seen the construction of a football facility, indoor practice field and student activity center.

The new UCF AD will take over one of the fastest-growing universities in America with the first item of business being to hire a head football coach, a job that has been open 13 days and counting now.
