USC announces plans for new football facility that include a rooftop deck (Facility)

Yesterday, USC announced some impressive plans to completely transform their athletic facilities, in what University President Carol Folt is calling a "moonshot" for athletics.

Among the plans that will benefit all of Trojans athletics is a shiny new football performance center.

The new facility will include three levels dedicated to team operations that will feature a new locker room, multiple player lounges, a recovery hub, areas for nutrition and sports science, a new weight room, and training and equipment rooms as well as a new team meeting area, position meeting rooms, staff offices, recruiting areas, and a flexible space dedicated to "future growth," the release shares.

Plans also call for the addition of a second full-length practice field, which (along with the initial outdoor field) will be accessible right from the new performance center.

Perhaps the coolest part of the new facility is plans for a rooftop hospitality deck, which is shown in the renderings.

Head coach Lincoln Riley, who is heading into his second season with the program, calls the vision β€œan absolute game-changer."

"It will be the perfect home for our team and give our players every opportunity to be successful,” Riley adds.

USC did not mention a cost for the project in the release.

The school is also doubling down on their commitment to the student-athlete experience in a number of other ways, including doubling the amount of meals being offered to student-athletes and doubling the amount of sport psychology clinicians available, as well as a few other important measures.
