Video: Barry Odom took on a bull named "Widowmaker" last night (UNLV)

There's a lot of debate about the hardest thing to do in all of sports ranging from hitting a fastball to winning the Tour de France or bringing home a gold medal in the olympics.

I've often wondered, why isn't hanging onto a raging bull for 8 seconds part of that conversation?

Barry Odom took on that challenge last night, and it still looks every bit as difficult as I remember seeing growing up.

Odom, donning a bull riding helmet with a UNLV decal, got strapped in like a veteran bull rider and was matched up with a bull named Widowmaker last night.

On the field, Odom got off to a fast start in his first season that ended with an impressive turnaround to finish 9-5 on the year, however, he didn't duplicate that kind of start (or finish) in - what we assume is - his bull riding debut.

Vegas has a unique plethora of things for coaches to embrace to become a full-fledged member of the greater community, and probably the highest percentage of activities of any college football town that have the possibility of causing "great bodily harm," so it feels like we should give Odom a ton of credit for strapping up for this one and coming out in one piece.

Take a look.
