Last Thursday, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, led by third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett, put on a clinic against the Houston Texans to the tune of a 27-0 thumping.
During that game, Inside the NFL mic'd up Bill Belichick, and it is everything you'd expect from the future Hall of Famer, and more.
Before the game, Belichick goes over to exchange pregame pleasantries with former player Vince Wilfork, and former Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, both now with the Texans organization. Then Belichick heads over to his offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to check in on how his guys are looking during warm ups, noting that Brisset looks a bit "wild" (the third-string quarterback would go on to complete 11-19 passes for 103 yards and rush 8 times fro 48 yards).
A little later on, it appears before kickoff, Belichick is handed a Surface tablet to look over, and can't seem to get what he wants out of it, so he hands it over to the tech guy who adjusts a few things before handing back to Belichick.
The genius of Belichick is on display in the video as well when special teams coordinator Joe Judge asks if he wants them to kick it through the end zone to prevent a return, but Belichick simply responds, "No, make them run it." What happens next? A fumble on the return recovered by New England. They would go on to cause, and recover, another fumble during a kick return before the night was over.
