Joey Batson has been a strength and conditioning coach at the college level for over three decades, with 28 of those years as a head strength coach, with and 21 of those years at Clemson.
During his time at Clemson, Batson has tutored a number of elite players, conference championship teams and teams that contended for the national title, including Dabo's team following the 2016 season that knocked off Alabama in the title game.
Reflecting on all that experience, Batson shared some wisdom prior to a summer workout that the video department decided to highlight.
"One of the things that I've noticed is they don't put championship rings on smooth hands, if you know what I mean."
"They put championship rings on callused hands."
It's such a simple statement, but it really drives the point home.
