When it comes to strategies on fourth and 1, few methods are as tried, true, and effective as the old under center quarterback sneak.
The Eagles ran it to perfection time after time last season, with big bodies pushing from behind the quarterback as well, that it eventually earned the nicknames "the tush push," and "the Brotherly Shove."
The strategy quickly became water-cooler conversation as a segment of folks would like to see the strategy banned altogether, while there are some coaches out there building a package of three plays or so off it.
Over the weekend, I saw this tweet from Chase McDonald, the defensive coordinator at Lumberton HS (TX).
In the tweet, coach McDaniel tags the NFL as well as a number of other sports outlets in a video where he proclaims "this is how you stop the 'Tush Push.'"
The clip shows a linebacker timing up the snap with a leap that would make LaVar Arrington jealous, and the way the tackle unfolds is something that can only be described using WWE wrestling jargon.
