While most of us are game planning and scheming ways to get a win up until game day, the good folks on the equipment staff spend all week preparing for game day so that everything goes off without a hitch. At least that’s how it works for those programs lucky enough to have an equipment staff.
What oftentimes gets lost in the craziness, schemes, and highlights of game days is the tremendous amount of work by the equipment people that goes into getting everything ready for the big day. That includes everything from laundry, to helmets, to making sure players have the preferred gloves and cleats, and then packing up the gear and transporting it to the stadium to get it all laid out.
Cal released a video recently highlighting some of the behind the scenes work that leads up to kickoff that the equipment staff puts in, and it’s pretty eye opening.
Check it out.
