The new atmosphere and energy that Chad Morris and his staff have brought to SMU has carried over into year two, and now they're talking about learning how to fight.
Under Morris, SMU was in a number of high octane battles last season, including a notable 56-37 shoot out with TCU, and while they finished 2-10 last year, the theme coming ready to fight in 2016 is a message they're communicating to their guys.
"Don't avoid where the fights are. Get in the midst of the fight. Get knocked down so that you can learn how to fight. So that you can hold your position.
"See, most people don't get out in the arena of life, because they don't want to fight. Most people don't get out there because they don't want to get knocked down. They don't want to drop to their knees. But, you see, you're going to be dropped whether you're on the field or standing on the sidelines.
"You're going to be dropped....SO AT LEAST GET DROPPED FOR SOMETHING."
