Programs all over the country have found ways to make off season workouts less of a grind than many of us remember as players. Players appreciate things as simple as being able to dress in Halloween costumes, or bringing out fog machines, or treating the weight room like a club like they do at Ohio State on occasion.
For coaches, breaking up the monotony often includes a different type of workout, like team building activities or military inspired workouts.
At Temple, the staff found a way to both spice things up and connect with the community by having players go through what Philadelphia's finest fireman go through at the academy.
"5 alarm workout. North Philly heroes. They are the best at what they do," head coach Geoff Collins tells the team before they start the workout.
"This is not going to be your normal workout. This is what we do at the academy," one of the firefighters adds before players suit up and get after it.

Who better to take us through a #TempleTUFF workout than some of the toughest in our city?
