If you watched ESPN earlier this week, you heard every host and anchor praise AT&T Stadium like a mother tiger cleaning its young. There was no better place to host the inaugural College Football Playoff than Jerry Jones' shrine to football, they said.
Soon, though, there will be a younger, newer competitor on the scene, and I have to say it looks pretty dang awesome.
The Falcons on Tuesday unveiled a virtual tour of their to-be-named stadium, slated to open in time for the 2017 football season. Like the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has been since AT&T Stadium's opening in 2009, Atlanta's new stadium will be a mega-planet, pulling in every major event in its orbit. In addition to Falcons home games, the new venue will likely host any and all Peach Bowls, SEC championships, College Football Playoff championships, kickoff games, Super Bowls, Final Fours, Justin Bieber concerts and the like.
