While both franchises and draftees all had to adjust to the virtual format from the comfort of their homes, last weekend's NFL Draft was just the sports medicine that many needed to continue pushing through this COVID quarantine. The circumstances surrounding it made it an especially historic event that will be remembered forever.
The Indianapolis Colts chronicled their unique draft day experience and shared it via episode 4: With The Next Pick from their Building Something Special Series.
The cameras are right there as the Colts pick a new 1-2 punch for their offense with USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and then traded up to get Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor with their first two picks.
The rest of the draft saw the Colts pick safety Julian Blackmon (Utah), quarterback Jacob Eason (Washington), offensive lineman Danny Pinter (Ball State), and defensive tackle Rob Windsor (Penn State), corner Isaiah Rodgers (UMass), wide receiver Dezmon Patmon (Washington State), and linebacker Jordan Glasgow (Michigan).
As they make each pick, scouts and other personnel weigh in on what they liked about each kid and why they were a fit with their organization, and you also get a really good look at how they navigated the unique virtual draft process and the leadership that GM Chris Ballard provided throughout the adversity.
