It should go without saying, but Las Vegas, the home of UNLV, is home to one of the most unique communities in all of college football. Nobody understand that better than new head coach Tony Sanchez.
Sanchez, who won six straight state titles at Bishop Gorman HS (NV), with an overall record of 85-5 during that run, is using the Las Vegas community as the foundation to build the UNLV football program back up. With all of the money and influence in Vegas, it's a smart move.
Here in this video, UNLV uses clips from Sanchez's introductory presser about what the UNLV program needs from the Las Vegas community, and combines it with a peek at the new mindset that he and his staff have brought to the program.
"We're going to recruit this community. We can't do it alone." Sanchez explains.
"But if we get this entire community, past, present, and future, all on the same page, and driving in the same direction...I KNOW that we will win here."
Seeing the new Rebels on the field in the fall the next few years should be interesting with Sanchez at the wheel.
